Pool companies should be prepared for another very warm year ahead if scientists are to be believed. In fact, the Met Office’s early forecast for 2017 places the coming year among the warmest on record.
The forecast will put a spring in the step of many residential pool companies, as pool owners rush to get their pools up and running at the first hint of sunshine.
Professor Adam Scaife, head of long-range prediction at the Met Office, said: “This forecast, which uses the new Met Office supercomputer, adds weight to our earlier prediction that 2017 will be very warm globally but is unlikely to exceed 2015 and 2016: the two warmest years on record since 1850.” But before we can enjoy the benefits of a warm summer we’ve got a chilly winter to get through, with the Met Office predicting that the risk of cold conditions this winter is now greater than it has been in recent winters.
