Wedi offers premium tile back-boards that are 100% waterproof due to its XPS (extruded Polystyren) structure. The material also includes great sound proofing as well as excellent insulation values. For the steam rooms, Golden Coast supply an epoxy-based vapour Wedi board which has all of the above but also a vapour barrier. Erik points out: “This means no further tanking is required before the steam room is tiled – not only really convenient but also a massive time saver for steam room projects.”
Other than steam rooms and shower rooms – Wedi also offers high quality XPS loungers, freestanding spas/plunge pools/swimming pools, complete step units for swimming pools, partition walls, basins, foot baths and a scope of water features. Erik again: “We are even able to line concrete swimming pool structures with Wedi boards to waterproof and improve insulation values of the swimming pools, this can reduce the swimming pools energy efficiency by up to 50%. “This is being implemented more and more these days as more and more swimming pool contractors is becoming aware of the benefits.”
