The reigning UK Spa Technician Of The Year, avid Arsenal fan, William Gee, would have no problem deciding who to invite to his ideal dinner party.
How did you get your start in the hot tub industry?
I was a plumber who had my own little company but got seriously let down on money by a builder which got myself into quite a bit of debt. My mum was manager at Spafix at the time they were looking for someone they gave me a chance and six years later I’m still here!
What are your day to day responsibilities at work?
I’m the senior engineer at Spafix, so I make sure all the other engineers are working to the best they can. I answer any technical questions which need my input.
What do you most like about your job?
When customers are a happy and they appreciate your work.
What are the biggest challenges you face?
When I first started was very challenging. I had never seen a hot tub before. The plumbing side, I found very easy but the electrical side was tougher.
What worries you about the industry?
I have seen an increase in one-man-bands who are lowering their prices to be more competitive. I believe they are devaluing the good work of established companies. This is having an effect and I do not think that type of model can sustain long term business.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
My Grandad always told me to treat others how you would like to be treated.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
My Arsenal heroes, David Seaman and Sol Campbell.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
Any time with family is precious, especially holidays
What are your goals for 2019?
To win the Lotto and retire!
