The global Covid-19 pandemic has claimed two major pool and spa industry casualties. Arguably the world’s most prestigious water leisure event, the organisers have announced the postponement of this year’s Piscine Global trade fair.
Due to take place in November, the biennial event will instead take place from February 9 to 12 at the Eurexpo centre in Lyon. After consultation with exhibitors and close partners, Messe Stuttgart has also decided to postpone the German exhibition, Interbad, until September 21 to 24, 2021.
“Our objective is to stage a successful trade fair,” said Andreas Wiesinger, a member of the Board of Management of Messe Stuttgart. “A trade fair to which we can welcome exhibitors and visitors from the areas of swimming pools, saunas and spas without any worries and where profitable business contacts are forged. This cannot be reliably guaranteed at present.”
The knock-on effect of the postponed events make for a hectic and overcrowded trade fair schedule for 2021 with two shows in Spain and Germany, as well as events in Italy and Russia in addition to the UK.
