Industry personality John Asher, of Asher Swimming Pools, celebrated his 90th birthday recently in the company of family and friends. John launched Asher Swimming Pools in 1968 with the support of his wife Brenda. The company continues to thrive today under the guidance of daughter Claire, son Andrew and director – John Epton.
Always keen to support the industry, John was a founder member of The Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers and served as President of both SPATA and ISPE. He has also been a stalwart supporter of the SPATEX show offering hands-on support over many years.
Outside of work, John has been a pro-active member of his local Rotary Club and made a significant contribution through ‘Trade Aid’, benefiting thousands of recipients in Africa with practical equipment to support enterprise, environment and education.
