Six decades after he founded East Sussex-based Southern Pools, John Dyer has died.
Friends and family gathered to pay tribute to a man who was not just successful in business but also in life.
One of the biggest and most popular personalities the water leisure industry has ever seen, John was inevitably the first and the last on the dance floor at pool industry parties and events, always accompanied by his devoted partner, Rita.
“So many memories of laughter and a person who touched many, whether in business or socially,” summed up Mark Ramsden of CPC on behalf of the industry. “My family and friends also shared John’s company and all know what a true character he was and a big loss to us all this is. We will feed off our memories with Johnny Dyer.”
Southern Pools has been building and maintaining swimming pools since 1965, serving Kent and East Sussex. Based in Heathfield, they have clients in Eastbourne, Hastings, Tunbridge Wells and all the surrounding areas. Southern Pools has a pool shop in Heathfield that stocks all the popular chemicals and maintenance equipment for swimming pools, spas and saunas. The company will continue under the stewardship of John’s son, Gary.
