The Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (ISPE) is all set for another busy event season, with dates and venues confirmed for its Autumn, Winter and Spring One-Day Seminars and speaker programmes taking shape.
First up was the ISPE Autumn Seminar on Thursday 1st October at Silvermere Inn on the Lake, Cobham, with eight industry speakers: Catherine Saunders, MISPE; Stephen Pring, MISPE; Paul McMichael, MISPE; Dr Jonathan Hughes; Sam Baker, MISPE; Ron O’Sullivan, MISPE; Jimmy Lamb, FISPE; and Garreth Rigby, TnISPE (Cert.).
The programme covers a broad range of subjects, including accurate water testing, in-situ electro-chlorination, domestic pool maintenance and water chemistry, natural clarifiers, service standards, plunge pool chillers, backwashing and pool hydraulics.
October will also mark an important moment for the Institute as Bob Judd, FISPE hands over the Presidential chains of office to incoming ISPE President Will Dando, FISPE.
The seminar also hosted the 2026 ISPE Student Awards, celebrating those who successfully completed the ISPE Study Course during 2025/26 and recognising the highest-scoring students. Following the success of last year’s Winter Seminar in Dudley, ISPE returns to the West Midlands on Thursday 3rd December, this time at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
Speakers include Colin Day, FISPE; John Whiteside, MISPE; Amanda Thompson-Smith, MISPE; James Lee, MISPE; Tina Loveridge; Matthew Roberts; Martyn Hardy, MISPE; Robbie Phillips, MISPE; Jimmy Lamb, FISPE; and Matt Newson, MISPE. The December event also offers something a little different. Following the seminar, delegates will receive complimentary entry to the greyhound racing, providing a relaxed and festive opportunity to continue networking.
Companies are also encouraged to bring more of the team and combine a full day of education and professional development with an informal Christmas get-together.
Attention will then turn to SPATEX, 2nd–4th February 2027, where ISPE will once again deliver its programme of technical workshops, before the Spring Seminar at Snelsmore House, Newbury, on Tuesday 9th March. Speakers and programmes for these events are now being finalised, with further announcements coming soon.
