The Orbro Pools team were asked to create a family swimming pool that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. Providing serenity and outstanding eco-friendly credentials, they certainly delivered with this project packed with sustainability, aesthetics, yet maintaining a harmonious blend between the pool and its natural environment.
“With the client being involved in renewable energy, he was very keen to heat the pool in the most efficient way,” explains Orbro’s Ben Bonsor. “Using solar energy to supply the power the inverter heat pump was the obvious best choice,” he continues.
“With a family full of young children, the thought of swimming in water with the same chlorine content as tap water was very appealing and a lot kinder to their skin and the environment.” Orbro Pools are champions of the Solid Pool construction method that is used in over 25 countries worldwide.
Supplied for tiled or liner above or below ground projects, the light-weight permanent shutting system is ideal for swimming pools, spas and water features and scores particularly highly on limited access sites. Weighing-in at 3.5kg, the SolidPool polypropolene block system is the only block that you can bend to create curves.
The simple ‘clip-together’ system does not require skilled labour and there is no need to render the pool walls once the concrete has been poured. This project earned a well-deserved Gold Standard in the 2023 UK Pool & Spa Awards.
