Now entering its 38th year, the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers enjoyed a busy last quarter of 2015, with technical seminars, filtration workshops and the AGM.
John Cheek, FISPE, was inaugurated as the new ISPE President as Allen Wilson, FISPE completed his two year term of office.
October also saw the retirement from the Institute Council of Selwyn Mindel, FISPE, who had served continuously on the ISPE Council for 34 years.
EXCELLENT VENUE
The November seminar was held at a new venue for the ISPE, the Walton Park Hotel, Clevedon, which proved to be an excellent venue, and the seminar was well-received by those who made the journey to North Somerset.
Chris Carr, FISPE and Phil Barlow, MISPE, recently presented the latest of these increasingly popular filtration workshops, once again at Plastipack premises in St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, by kind permission of Peter Adlington, MISPE.
The Institute is most grateful to Plastica, MSi, CPC, Golden Coast, Hydrospec, Pollet Pool Group and SCP UK who donated various items, including tools, equipment, goody bags for each delegate, Champagne for the winner of the exam and even the lunch, all of which made the day a great success.
There is currently a waiting list for the next filtration workshop, to be held in the Autumn. Contact Ross at the Institute office for more details and to register your interest.
Since October the Institute has been awarding Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points to all ISPE seminar delegates. Increasingly, more and more people are being asked to demonstrate that they are keeping their knowledge up-to-date, and keeping a record of training sessions attended, and CPD points which may be awarded is a good way of proving this to anyone who has an interest in this area. The ISPE awards four CPD points to those that attend a seminar and six points to delegates that attend an ISPE filtration workshops.
