Red carpet treatment for UK Pool and Spa Awards…
A HUGE AUDIENCE PACKED the National Conference Centre venue for the UK Pool & Spa Awards
The biggest ever audience gathered for the 2025 UK Pool & Spa Awards and a sensational Xmas themed night of celebration. Now in its 15th year, the event, held at Birminghamās National Conference Centre in December is recognised as the Oscars of the water leisure industry.
The 2025 contest drew 272 entries from 75 companies across 28 categories, bringing industry leaders and trending trailblazers under one roof. With an approximate value of Ā£154 million, the UK water leisure market continues to grow year-on-year, with an estimated 250,000 private pools in existence. This number is increasing year-on-year with around 1,000 new pools installed annually ā all championing modern, eco-efficient technologies.
This yearās biggest winners were Buckingham Pools scooping seven awards in total, including Residential Pool of the Year, Commercial Pool Project of the Year and Swimming Pool Contractor of the Year. Yorkshire-based One Pool & Spa and Essexās Aquascapes were also recognised for their excellence, picking up four accolades each, while Waterstream from West Sussex received three wins and a Special Achievement Award for 20 years in business.
Luxury specialist pool contractor Tanby Swimming Pools from Surrey caught the eye of the judges, winning Residential Indoor Pool of the Year over Ā£175,000 and Residential Indoor Pool Refurbishment Project of the Year. The commercial pool sector was strongly represented at this yearās UK Pool & Spa Awards with Serco Leisure picking up their seventh successive Leisure Operator Of The Year trophy and also scooping Water Leisure Venue Of the Year. With a red-carpet welcome for the contenders, the evening kicked off with a lively networking session where the event sponsors were able to mingle with guests as drinks and canapes were served.
After a festive-themed two-course meal, the awards ceremony began with a huge 38 different companies named category winners. The UK Pool & Spa Awards event is made possible thanks to the generous support of the event sponsors. The 2025 awards included two first-time sponsors; The Jacuzzi Group and Aqua Platinum Projects.

The competition winners are decided by a team of judges across the broad spectrum of categories. They included the category sponsors and specialists in appropriate fields such as websites. There is also a public vote which accounts for 40% of the overall vote.

Martin Killen, the founder of Recotherm, received a Lifetime Achievement Award in honour of his four decades as an energy-efficiency pioneer in the industry. Another Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Andrea Morrison for decades of innovation, resilience, and mentorship shaping the Wensum Pools & Wellness team.
A Special Achievement Award was presented to Ryan Green of Tanby Pools for maintaining high standards of work and studies as he battled to overcome ill health. A Special Achievement was also awarded to Colin Day, who during his 20 yearsā service with Lovibond Tintometer, has served with the Institute Of Swimming Pool Engineers including a spell as President. Colin is also a member of the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Board. A third Special Achievement award was presented to Northern Ireland based Starview Hot Tubs And Outdoor Living for their fundraising initiatives in aid of Diabetes UK.
The 2026 UK Pool & Spa Awards opens in May with the winners confirmed with a return visit to Birminghamās National Conference Centre on Thursday Dec 10th.
BIRTHDAY BOOST FOR DAVID
Waterland Media, the UK Pool & Spa Awards organisers, included a fundraiser at this yearās event in aid of the Hayes family of Hydropool Devon. By coincidence, the event was held on Davidās birthday in a memorable week for the father of two as he achieved a huge goal, settling into adapted living accommodation at the family home in Devon.
David suffered a catastrophic spinal injury while on a family holiday to Ibiza this summer. The event added over Ā£1,000 to the Go Fund Me Appeal set up by a close family friend.
