Industry trade event celebrates 30th anniversary…
SPATEX, the water leisure industry trade show established and organised by the industry, for the industry, is on its marks for the 30th pearl anniversary celebration of the prestigious event. Over three decades, SPATEX has generated income valued at an estimated £12 million with £8m spent on expenditure. That has enabled a profit pot of over £2m to be redistributed to the British Swimming Pool Federation and Pool Industry Promotion with about £150,000 in sponsorship of the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers.
The SPATEX Foundation has received more than £90,000 with £8,000 going to sponsorship of Trade Aid and £70,000 spent on SPATEX videos and other promotional materials. More than £56,000 was used to fund member discounts for BISHTA and SPATA. From its humble beginnings at the Metropole Exhibition Centre on Brighton’s sea-front, some three decades on, SPATEX can proudly claim to be the UK’s only dedicated international water leisure show, and growing.
Against today’s challenging economic backdrop, the annual exhibition can report that demand for exhibition space has never looked healthier. Indeed, floorspace for
the 2026 edition was expanded to accommodate 125 companies and sold out earlier than ever. Many visitors are drawn to SPATEX for its free double seminar programme featuring CPD accredited technical workshops.
